Our Vision

Our vision is to build stronger families throughout the Shenandoah Valley through increased Health, Education, and Community, paying special attention to the needs of expectant mothers and children.

Our Philosophy

Our clients range across all ages and genders, and we have specialty training in care for expectant mothers and children. A healthy individual is strong, but a healthy family is stronger, and we want to improve the health of the community as a whole. Happier, healthier pregnancies, kids, and families—that is our goal at Valley Family Wellness & Chiropractic.

The Shenandoah Valley is alive and vibrant with a fantastic effort to get back to our roots. From community organization and business development to local music talent, the Valley is thriving. Local farmers are finally getting the voice that they deserve, and our community is putting a strong emphasis on family values. The one piece that was missing until now was holistic family wellness care–Valley Family Wellness & Chiropractic fills that void!

The body has the ability to heal itself on every level, and chiropractic care helps the body naturally function at its maximum potential. While chiropractic care is often viewed as a treatment for pain, in a more full light, proper spinal alignment allows for optimal nervous system function, which controls the overall well being of the body. Dr. Andrew looks at each person with a “wellness” approach, rather than the more commonly known “sickness” approach.

Good health begins before birth, which is why prenatal chiropractic care is so important for baby’s development. We want each generation to be healthier than the previous one, rather than the other way around. We strive to help individuals achieve their maximum wellness potential through adjustments, nutritional care, education, and community.

Dr Andrew

Dr. Andrew (we’re on a first-name basis around here because that is how families work!) is a graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, Texas. He holds a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board, and he is board eligible for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association certification. He is also certified in Webster Technique, targeted specifically for expectant mothers; Omni Therapeutic Technique, a non-force adjusting technique; and OTZ frozen shoulder technique.

While in Texas, Dr. Andrew worked in the highly-respected Lifetime Family Wellness Center with Drs. Jim Bob and Cindy Haggerton where he increased his understanding of patient care for expectant mothers and children, specifically handling the highly-specialized neurological cases in the office. He has adjusted mothers before, during, and after labor, both in a clinical setting and in the comfort of the mothers’ homes. He has also adjusted babies just minutes after their births at home and in a birth center. Additionally, he has spent time working with Autism Spectrum Disorder children (including ADD, ADHD, PDD, and Asperger syndrome patients). But these are just his specialties! Dr. Andrew strives to support patients at every stage of life.

After the birth of their first son, Dr. Andrew and his wife Nicole realized that it was time to return home to the Shenandoah Valley. Almost 10 years and 5 kids later we are still excited to be here!

Since returning to the Valley, Dr. Andrew has had the pleasure of treating hundreds of families. He has worked with midwives in Harrisonburg, Staunton, Fishersville, Waynesboro, and Charlottesville to help educate and care for expectant mothers and their newborns. Part of that education has been to bring awareness to nursing struggles that mothers often encounter, such as tongue and lip ties. Shortly after coming home to the valley, Dr. Andrew was able to work with a local dentist to bring a much needed laser tongue and lip tie revision procedure to the area.

Dr. Andrew also recognizes the importance of integrative rehabilitative care both postpartum and after injuries.  He is very comfortable referring to and working with physical therapists and other practitioners. In 2017, Dr. Andrew was fortunate to have Dr. Brittany Wilmoth of Valley Pelvic Health bring her practice into the office. Integrated care postpartum with Dr. Brittany is often recommended by Dr. Andrew.

Along with treating families, Dr. Andrew is passionate about working with patients with chronic health struggles that have not been able to find help elsewhere. Using a more holistic approach, more in depth testing, and changes to diet, lifestyle, and supplementation, Dr. Andrew is able to help clients see significant positive changes in their health.
